Introduction:
Most books on marriage are written about how to make each other happy, what makes each other tick, how to speak each others love language - they are centred on us, and how we feel. But what if that was not the primary purpose of marriage? What if marriage was to represent something much bigger than us? What if we are focusing on the wrong thing? Today I want us to look at what a biblical view of marriage really is…
Key Verse:
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Saviour. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendour, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. (Eph 5v22-27).
Some Thoughts:
What does a Godly marriage look like? How is it meant to reflect Jesus’ love for the church? How are you; whether married, dating or single, living in the reality of this? How can you become more eternity minded so your greatest purpose is the Glory and mission of Jesus?

Being a Christian isn’t always easy… If we truly want to live for Christ - it costs, we need perseverance, we need to be willing to let go of our life, and as Jesus said - we need to loose our life, if we want to truly find his. I have been asking myself - What Kind of Christians is the church producing today? Are we anything like the picture God had in mind? We want to portray the true gospel, and see real authentic Christians being disciples and looking to make other disciples, who are willing to come and be a living sacrifice and whose delight is Jesus....
