Introduction:
So many of us have been brought up with lies, things that have been spoken over us, the way we have been treated, situations that have come upon us. All these things shape and colour our view; the way we see God, ourselves each other, the world. Some of the most significant and insignificant events later on in life come out and feed the growing insecurities that we have picked up along the way. And at the same time we almost live in a self fulfilling prophecy of it all, through these lenses, and insecurities we reinforce them in ourselves by they way we handle and perceive situations. In addition to this we are great at heaping, guilt and condemnation on ourselves. We never feel good enough, or feel we can be strong enough, or that God and others would love us enough. We believe we are sinners, stuck in a cycle of sin, destined for a roller coaster life of ups and downs, falling into the same traps, and then breaking free. An endless cycle of failure and success, only to be marred by failure again. And so we find it difficult to relate to God, we find it difficult to come back to God, we find it difficult to approach a God, who is so Holy, so good, so distant. We just don't know how to approach this unapproachable God.
Key Verse:
For on this day shall atonement be made for you to cleanse you. You shall be clean before the Lord from all your sins. (Leviticus 16v30).
…But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. (Heb. 9v26).
Some Thoughts:
How easy do we find it to trust that Jesus has paid it all, and that we don't need to be punished, because he was punished for us? If we grasped this truth how different might our lives look, how differently would we treat ourselves, others in the church, and those in the community?

Being a Christian isn’t always easy… If we truly want to live for Christ - it costs, we need perseverance, we need to be willing to let go of our life, and as Jesus said - we need to loose our life, if we want to truly find his. I have been asking myself - What Kind of Christians is the church producing today? Are we anything like the picture God had in mind? We want to portray the true gospel, and see real authentic Christians being disciples and looking to make other disciples, who are willing to come and be a living sacrifice and whose delight is Jesus....

This can often be the case both in the good, bad, but also normal parts of life. Have you ever then looked back over that time and as you have looked Suddenly God reveals to you what he was doing, and where he was? All of a sudden you see how God was fully in it?...
