Temptation has been around since the earth was created. The fact that we have choice, means we can choose to do good or bad to full into temptation or resist. We see this right at the start in the book of Genesis. We see this with King David - a man after Gods own heart. In fact we see this in the life of almost every Godly person in the bible from Abraham to Esau to Sampson to the disciples everyone one of them at times resisted and other times fell into the snare of temptation.
We see this in our lives today - well known pastors and preachers tempted into adultery, not to mention the temptations we all give into every day of our lives. Jesus himself was tempted, but never fell into sin, today we will see how Jesus was able to resist so that we can do so too.
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full (John 15:9-11). No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthian 10:13).
How can we abide in the love of Jesus so that temptation and sin has no power?

Being a Christian isn’t always easy… If we truly want to live for Christ - it costs, we need perseverance, we need to be willing to let go of our life, and as Jesus said - we need to loose our life, if we want to truly find his. I have been asking myself - What Kind of Christians is the church producing today? Are we anything like the picture God had in mind? We want to portray the true gospel, and see real authentic Christians being disciples and looking to make other disciples, who are willing to come and be a living sacrifice and whose delight is Jesus....
