Soul Food - I have a Dream

Posted by Mars Hill Church on 5th December 2016 in Meditation | soul food,i have a dream, mission, missional
Introduction I have a dream of a church that is all about Jesus: a church that loves Jesus, serves Jesus, lives out Jesus to one another and in the communities God has placed us. A church that is Jesus centred, Holy Spirit dependant, and Father Glorifying, trusting in the infallibility of this book, the Bible. A church that loves each other enough to serve one another, to be real honest and raw with one another. A church with authentic love, that speaks life and is generous in everything. A church that loves God’s church enough to get up, get involved and makes a difference. I have a dream of a church that lives out and speaks out the gospel, knowing it is...

Posted by Mars Hill Church on 10th April 2017 in Religion & Spirituality | Sacrifice, blood, love, sin, saviour,Jesus, burn
Introduction: There is a phrase that we often use, that is, ‘ Ignorance is bliss’. We use it to convince ourselves and others that the things we do not know about won’t affect us, so we would prefer not to know. If you don't know about the train coming along the train track, when it hits you, will it not hurt you? Or if you don't know that your attitude stinks and is hurting the people around you, will it not have any effect on your life?…. Ignorance is only bliss for the short term: but long term it finds you out. I call it th...

Exodus 15: Drink of the Spirit

Posted by Mars Hill Blog on 13th September 2015 in Exodus | Exodus, slavery, freedom, Spirit, Gospel
...Due to some technical issues, there is no video this week. Instead, here is an overview of the sermon.   Drink of the Spirit Following on from last Sunday Pastor Dave felt God say to send out a weekly meditation for us to feed on.  The idea is that there will be one verse for the week, with just a brief introduction and thought associated with it.  We can read over this verse each day, speaking it out and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to us and feed our souls.  Its good practice to write down what God reveals to us.  Meditation literally means to mutter, so that we can hear what God is saying over us.  The passages will be shor...

Acts 14: Bitter Sweet Pill of the Gospel!

Posted by Mars Hill Blog on 5th January 2014 in Acts | Acts, New Testament, Christianity, video, Holy Spirit
...We see today the paradox of the gospel, how it brings life and hardship, healing and brokenness. We see today that we need to be able to embrace and preach the whole gospel, not just the parts we like!...
