Acts 11: Why I still want to be called a Christian!

Posted by Mars Hill Blog on 24th November 2013 in Acts | Acts, New Testament, Christianity, video, Holy Spirit
The word "Christian" has often conjured up many negative connotations, and has even been badly misrepresented. So it is time to redeem the name of Jesus Christ, so that it becomes more than a swear word, or a label, but a way of life, centred around not a Religion but a person - Jesus. Yes, Christianity is a Religion, but its not about Religion, it is, and always has been, all about Jesus. Today we will see that Jesus loves it when we boldly bare his name and live in a way that we carry his reputation with integrity, love and power!...

If Jesus did Mars Hill Church

Posted by Mars Hill Blog on 12th September 2016 in If Jesus Series | if jesus did mars hill church,if jesus, church, ekklesia, devotion, study
The church, in general, is in danger of loosing what set it apart in the first place; People overwhelmed by the love of God, totally devoted to Jesus, living in community together reaching out to a world with the love, power and presence of God. Many people think the church is outdated and not relevant to today - from the Sunday service to the mid week meetings - many people are trying to find new ways of doing things - fresh expressions. Many people are trying to think of new ways of presenting Jes...

The EU Referendum - Babylon, Babel, and the Beast Introduction: We are fast approaching voting day, where we as a nation need to decide whether we are in or out of the European Union. As this time has drawn near more and more information has come out about whether we should stay or go; political and economic battle lines have been drawn by all parties involved. Within this mix the Christian voice has also been raised, with a warning cry about the European union and how this may relate to biblical prophecy. My intention for this blog is not to make any political statement, or tell you which way to vote, but to address the spiritual views made by some christians...

Acts 19: Ordinarily Extraordinary

Posted by Mars Hill Blog on 23rd February 2014 in Acts | Acts, New Testament, Christianity, video, Holy Spirit, demons
We come to a very exciting passage of scripture. Paul turns up in Ephesus and all heaven breaks open. Paul's successful ministry in this city came with such Holy Spirit power, that people left their cults and alternative religious beliefs, their spiritualism and occultism to follow Jesus. The work was so powerful, that Paul became a threat to the dominating temple of Artemus (Acts 19:27). Life, music, Religion was impacted and left changed....
