Have you ever bit into an apple and realised its rotten? It looks good on the outside but once you get in, you realise its full of decay – it’s just plain nasty. This is what Jesus is getting at as he starts to bring his mountain message to a close. Jesus is asking us not to judge but to discern people by their fruit: not by what they say or do, but by discerning whether Jesus is at the centre. The Bible tells us that in these last days, false prophets will arise to even deceive the elect, so how can we know if something or someone truly is from God?...

Some Thoughts
In what ways can we be distracted from Jesus and what he calls us too? Think about even good or Godly things, that actually end up distracting from the truth. How can we remain focused on Jesus, so that we love him and live his mission each day?

...As a church we want to encourage both the prophets and the prophetic, so that we can hear God clearly in all areas of our life. We believe that a successful church will be one that appreciates the prophetic and is a place where prophets can develop in their ministry. Likewise we believe tongues is a gift given to the church that is underrated and often underused.
